As long as Grass grows and Water runs

As long as Grass grows and Water runs

Americans are greedy; it’s a fact of life. We kept pushing farther and farther west taking lands owned by the Indians for thousand’s of years. We justified these actions by saying that these Indians who, by the way, saved the settlers at James town from starvation and plague, where savages, and by telling ourselves that there was plenty of land to go around. Andrew Jackson was one of the strongest supporters of Indian removal and extermination. During his days as a general he attacked a fort manned by a thousand Creek warriors and their families. There where no survivors. During this time the U.S Government made many treaties and promises to protect the Indians only to stab them in the back to our convenience. The U.S managed to break most of the treaties and push the natives farther and farther west. When Jefferson was president there was talk of setting aside tracks of land for the Indians but sadly that never happened. When there was gold found on Indian lands in Georgia the U.S pushed the natives out of there and prohibited them mining the gold. If any Indians refused to move west they where forced to abide by the laws of the state witch meant paying taxes, but not allowing them to vote. For me all of this represents the human race quite well. This just proves that we will do anything “regardless of what harm will come to others” to get what we want. Making promise after promise and breaking them all because they wanted to profit from it was greedy and unfair. This, sadly, shows how vile and evil Americans and even the human race is capable of being if they want something bad enough.
